On March 1st, 2020, Christ the Redeemer
was filled with people and excitement as we “launched” a new church in Quincy. Years of prayer, planning, gathering and relationship building came prior to that point. Of course, we had no idea what would hit us just two weeks later…a global pandemic forcing us to gather exclusively “virtually.” Through the bleak and difficult times, though, the Lord has been more than faithful. Technology and a love for one another have allowed us to maintain contact in a world of social distance, and in various ways, God has reminded us that we have a living hope in Jesus Christ that gives a peace that nothing else in the world can give or take away.
After nearly four months of meeting exclusively virtually, on Sunday, July 5th, CTR Quincy resumed our Sunday worship gathering in person (and still streaming online) with masks on, windows open and pews roped off (following all MA safety guidelines).
Christ the Redeemer is a new congregation of Christ the King Presbyterian Church
in the beautiful city of Quincy, Massachusetts. Christ the King is a multi-congregational church, and the vision is to be a church for the city (greater Boston) by planting churches that are shaped by the gospel, in particular neighborhoods and communities throughout the Boston area. Christ the Redeemer Quincy is the eighth congregation planted as part of Christ the King.
Christ the Redeemer Quincy exists to see and share the love, truth and relevance of Jesus Christ with our city. Our shared vision is for a new church that would be gospel centered, prayerfully depending, community enjoying, city serving, and kingdom minded. It is our prayer and goal that we would be a church that, rooted in gospel Christ’s redeeming love, would bring together people of diverse cultures, ages and backgrounds.
